24 Hours later…TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND NOTES!

My flight is today.  The trip officially starts today.

GET READY FOR THREE WEEKS IN EUROPE!!

You would think that because the semester was over I would not be up until approximately 1:30 doing homework.  You would be wrong.

You see, my flight for Europe is Monday night.  I leave my house tomorrow.  I’m flying out of Dulles International Airport which is about 5 hours from where I live.  My parents would rather not do 10 hours in a car in one day so we are staying in a hotel tomorrow night.  Then my flight is at 5:30 pm on Monday and I land in Brussels Tuesday morning.

My trip is taking me to Belgium, Amsterdam, the Czech Republic, Germany, Scotland, and Ireland.  All in the course of three weeks.  It’s going to be a whirlwind.  Especially since it is my first time out of North America.  I’ve been to Canada and Mexico, but that’s about it.  I’ve traveled relatively extensively inside the continental United States but this will be my first time overseas. 

It still seriously seems unreal that this trip is actually happening.  And what more, I will be going on it with people that I am friends with.  I never expected my parents to actually say yes when I proposed this trip to them and yet here I am, about two days from being there.

But I still have so much to do.  I know and have known for awhile that I do have a procrastination problem.  I tend to leave everything until the last minute.  It does get stressful when I get down to the wire, but not so much beforehand.  This is why I am up right now instead of spending as much time as possible sleeping in my own bed.  This trip is part of a summer study abroad program through the political science department at my university.  I get 6 credits as well.  But because it is technically considered two classes, I have work I need to do to prepare.  There are readings that were given online and quizzes to take.  I took one of them during the spring semester because that one had a due date and the professors wanted to make sure everyone knew how to do it.  But the other ones?  I printed out the articles and left the quizzes for, like, now.  Clearly I am getting far.

On my behalf, I do only have one left.  The one I did earlier in the semester in addition to the next three were all multiple choice and had time limits of about 10 minutes.  But the last one from today was four questions that were supposed to be short essays.  It took forever to do the readings and the writeups.  And I have another whole quiz exactly like it left to do.  I can’t even think about that right now.  My brain is basically mush right now.

I do have sometime to do the last one tomorrow so I think that’s what I’ll do.  My plan is to bring the readings in the car with me along with the questions I will have to answer and possibly write some notes about what to write.  The right is about 4 hours tomorrow so I might actually get bored enough in the car to do my work.

I’m going to take advantage of my last night in my own bed right now and go to sleep.  Good night!!

I really need to start packing for Europe but I can’t bring myself to do anything right now. I’m going to be temporarily converting this into a travel blog while I’m in Europe. I may still post and reblog other things but I probably won’t have much time. I can’t even express how much I’m looking forward to this trip.
